Applicants are expected to lodge online applications if possible, an immiAccount must be created prior to application.
Once you lodged the online application for citizenship, the Department of Home Affairs will put your application into the queue and wait for case officer to be assigned to you.
If your assigned case officer starts looking at your case and determine you meet the eligibility requirements, then you will receive a letter indicating your appointment date and time. You will conduct both citizenship interview and citizenship test in this appointment.
Please be aware you need to bring all the original documents for the copies that you lodged with your application. If you forget to bring any of the required documents, your interview will be cancelled and put to a later date.

If your application is refused, you will receive a refusal letter with reasons for decision. You can apply for a review on the refusal decision by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. The time limits for requesting a review are strict, always lodge a review on time.
